About Me

Hello and welcome to my website! My name is Juan David Acosta, though you can call me either Juan or David or Juan David, whichever one you prefer. My preferred pronouns are he/him/his. The purpose of this website is to showcase my educational and professional experience, my portfolio of data-oriented projects, a blog of my discussions in the data space, and an overview of my hobbies and interests.

I currently live in the Greater Toronto Area, where I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto and received my Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Statistics, with minors in both Mathematics and the History and Philosophy of Science and Technology, in June 2022.

I have over a year of professional data analysis experience that gave me exposure into the renewable energy industry. This is in addition to years of education in data analysis, statistical and mathematical concepts throughout my undergraduate studies. I have also taken courses and read literature that touched upon relevant topics today such as the ethics of developing artificial intelligence, which I will also be discussing at length through my blog.

When I am not querying a SQL database or cleaning a dataset for analysis, you can find me cooking up tried and true recipes, catching up on my favourite shows (sci-fi is my absolute favourite genre!), looking up at the Moon through my telescope, or building cities for virtual citizens.
